He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Frank and James Robert Sorrell; and his brother Dick. He is survived by: his brother Bob Jr.; his wife Lillian Smith Sorrell; his sisters-inlaws, Villa Sorrell and Wanda Sorrell; his daughters, Patricia Sorrell Mitchell (Bill) and Kathleen Sorrell Penn (Kent); and his grandchildren, John Mitchell (Halley), Ruth Mitchell Hilton (Clay) and Jacob Mitchell.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sea Episcopal Church (433 Trojan St, Port Aransas, TX 78373). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Church (161 E Peace St, Canton, MS 39046).
