She is survived by: her boyfriend Mike Hegney; her parents, Eric T. Rippert and Mary Ellen Rippert; and her brother Thomas Rippert. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

“I knew Kate through her association with the kennel I work at where she frequently boarded her 2 wonderful dogs. Scout and Harper Lee will most assuredly miss their human mama. She cared deeply for her dogs and it was a pleasure keeping them healthy and happy until she returned from her various trips. It is easy to tell when a pet-parent truly cares for their little darlings. She was one of those people. She will be missed. Joe Harmon”
