He was predeceased by: his father Felix Vela Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Tomasa C. Vela; and his siblings, Elizabeth (Johnny), Velma (Gene) and Alfred (Stella). He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service - Morgan (1222 Morgan Ave, Corpus Christi, TX 78404). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church (3210 S Padre Island Dr, Corpus Christi, TX 78415). The military honors was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery (9974 Ih 37 Acc, Mathis, TX 78368).
