He is survived by: his wife Mary McMinnimy Hamel; his children, Nila Hamel Bennett, Paul Hamel Jr. (Barbra), Rose Hamel, Maurice Hamel (Liz) and Katherine Hamel Lones (Yancey); his siblings, Joseph Hamel, Pauline Lambert, Raymond Hamel, Author Hamel and Claire Veilleux; his brothers-in-law, Edward Lambert and Ron Mann; his sons, Fredrick Maurice and Joseph Rene; his son-in-law Michael Bennett; and his great grandchild Elycia Nicole Aviles. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces and nephews.
