“Gertrud -I just saw this about Fletcher. I feel terrible and please accept the deep condolences of the Bell family. It seems like yesterday when I went with you and Fletcher from Budingen to visit your family in Steyr. Or visited your home when I was a battalion commander at Ft Hood. 'Curly' was one of my role models and was a direct result of LT Bell becoming LTC Bell. I will never forget him...and you. I hope this note finds you well.
