He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth Hatton Whitworth and Ray Whitworth; his sister Linda Whitworth; and his brother-in-law Richard McCarthy. He is survived by: his sister Marilyn Whitworth; and his niece Eleanore Whitworth (Clay Schultz). He is also survived by great niece and a nephew and cousins and friends.

He donated to many charitable organizations and was active in his church.
