He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean O. Howard and Thelma Howard (Sumner); and his sister Judith Popish. He is survived by: his son Dustin Howard (Tracy Pruett) of Omaha, NE; and his siblings, Julee Smith of Omaha, NE, Philip Howard (Kelly Thomas) of Copperas Cove, TX, Janis Ireland (Doug DeBoer) of Lincoln, NE and Jean Howard of Omaha, NE.
