He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Gilbert and Vivian Juanita Swanzy; his children, Kevin Swanzy (Sharon) and Cheryl Quast (Mark Engler); his grandchildren, Jonathan Swanzy (Alison), Bradford Swanzy (Chelsea), Sarah Swanzy, David Swanzy, Stephanie Fleisher (Scott), Allison Quast and Michael Quast (Rachel); and his brother Don Miller. He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.

Bill became a Texas Highway Patrolman in 1962 that laid the foundation for his insurance adjusting career.
