He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry Rhodes, Jr. and Virginia Ruth Watts; his spouse Glendolyn K. Johnston; and his son John Paul Rhodes. He is survived by: his son James Glenn Rhodes (Tara) of Athens; and his grandchildren, Toby Glenn Rhodes and Madison Grace Rhodes.

Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital or the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church of Commerce.
