He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Sr. Martinez and Sabina Pompa Martinez; his wife Billie Archeleata-Leatherwood; his daughter Kimmie Leatherwood; his grandsons, K. C. Leatherwood and Chandler Morris; and his siblings, Tony Martinez and Margaret Martinez.

He is survived by: his siblings, J. C. Martinez (Jill) of Indiana, Mary Martinez of Austin, Tino Martinez (Maria) of New Braunfels, Johnny Martinez (Marna) of Sulphur Springs, Paul Martinez (Cindy) of New Mexico, Ralph Martinez of Tyler and Patrica Thompson of Commerce; his grandchildren, Kelly Leatherwood, Kody Leatherwood, Kama Senter, Kayde Evans, Kolton Leatherwood and Kasey Leatherwood; and his niece Jayne Williams. He is also survived by three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
