It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn Schwethelm of Comfort, Texas, born in Tyler, Texas, who passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Fortner and Ruby Fortner; and also James Leroy Fortner. She is survived by: her husband A. C. Schwethelm; her sisters, Alethia Haynes of Dallas and Ann Metcalf of Panhandle, Texas; her daughter Julie Holmes (Carl Holmes); her granddaughter Kimberly Moffat; her great grandchildren, Brittany and Samantha; her grandson Carl Jr. (Kellie); her great grandchild Taylor; her granddaughter April Calderon (John Allen); her great grandchildren, Claire and Ethan; her grandson Jarrett Holmes; her great grandchild Angel; her son Otto Schwethelm (Karen); her granddaughter Chesen Schwethelm (Matthew Perez); her great grandchildren, Hollander, Waverly and Cecily; her granddaughter Harmony Schwethelm; her great grandchildren, Phoenix and Griffin; her daughters, Sue Schwethelm and Jean Smith (Neil Smith); and her great grandchild Jackson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in her memory to the Comfort Public Library, Comfort V.F.D. or the local charity of your choice.
