He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Louis Hale and Earl Sr. Hale. He is survived by: his wife Janet Gish Hale; his children, Elizabeth Hale Spitzer (Lee) and Alex; his grandson Harry; his sons, Tyler Hayslett (Katie) and Greg Hayslett (Sydney); his grandchild Peyton; his son Bryan Hayslett; and his close friend Kathy Acosta Zavala.

Earl suggested donations in lieu of flowers be given to the charitable institution of the donor's choice, and, if no preference, to the Falling Water Property Owners' Association for the purposes of Common Area beautification.
