He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Paul Heinen and Veta Marie Culpepper Heinen; and his former wife Julie Mitchell Heinen. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Heinen; his daughters, Debbie Juern (Neal) of Bulverde and Kelly Matte (Gregg) of Houston; and his sister Ann Marie Cole of College Station.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in his memory to the Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the ministry of.
