He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Bates and Zola Mae Bates; and his brother James Bates. He is survived by: his wife Pam Ross; his sons, Justin (Amber) of DeLeon and Jarrett (Alyssa) of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Kinsey, Cason, Caroline, Camden, Cole and Cooper; and his siblings, Rita McClain of Dilley, Texas and Edward Bates.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel (411 W Grand Ave, Comanche, TX 76442). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (407 N Houston St, Comanche, TX 76442). A burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newburg Cemetery.
