He is survived by: his wife Sherlene Kirkes; his brother Glen Kirkes; his children, Jeff Kirkes (Carletta Kirkes) of Abilene, TX and Nina Melton of Carlsbad, NM; his son-in-law James Strawbridge; and his grandchildren, Brandi McDonald, Aaron Kirkes, Eric Kirkes, Bryon Strawbridge, Lindsey Freeman and Cody VanNatta. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche (1508 N Austin St, Comanche, TX 76442).
