He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Rivera and Julia Rivera (Vela); his son Joey G. Rivera; and his siblings, Juan Rivera, Jr. and Diana Rivera.
He is survived by: his wife Maria A. Rivera of Comanche, Texas; his grandchildren, Joseph K. Rivera of Comanche, Texas, Gabriella A. Rivera and Reagan N. Rivera of Comanche, Texas; and his siblings, Maria D. Banda (Esiquio) of Comanche, Guadalupe Rivera of Abilene, Texas and Ramon Rivera (Diana) of Sweetwater, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and four sister-in-laws and 3 brother-in-laws.
