It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Berger (Columbus, Texas), born in Fayetteville, Texas, who passed away on April 8, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben A. Schielack and Elenora Schielack (Foyt); her husband Leon E. Berger; her brothers, Jesse Schielack (Mabel), Bennie Schielack (Bettie) and Edward Schielack (Irene); and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Schielack and Margie Schielack.

She is survived by: her children, Sandi Berger of Columbus, Robert L. Berger (Sandra) of Columbus and Bill R. Berger (Susan) of Columbus; her grandchildren, Brian Berger (Amber), Chad Ellis (Michelle) and Tara Sotherland (Jack); her great grandchildren, Zoe Kate, Ella, Lila Berger, Brooke, Blaine Ellis and Henry Sotherland; her brothers, Weldon Schielack and Jim Schielack; and her siblings-in-law, Lawrence and Catherine Berger.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Anthony Catholic School Capital Campaign Fund, P.O. Box 669, Columbus, TX 78934. “Sincere condolences to the family and prayers for your peace. Ruby was a beautiful woman with a loving heart. She and my mom, Pearl (Foyt) Cejka, were 1st cousins. Pearl died at 33 in 1953 and through all the years Ruby never missed an opportunity to share her love and a hug with my brothers and myself. She will always hold a special place in my heart. 🙏🏼💜 gary cejka”
