He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Helmcamp and Beatrice Helmcamp; his former wife Alvirder Emmel Helmcamp of Weimar, Texas.; his brother-in-law Alvin Emmel; and his brother James Helmcamp.
He is survived by: his uncle Leon; his aunt Mary; his wife Betty Helmcamp; his daughters, Virginia (Bruce Hromadka) and Rosemary (Gary Rosenauer); his stepchildren, James (Janet Purdy) and Ann (Toby Barlow); his grandchildren, Jenny (Bryan Hendrix) and Wyatt (Bridgette Rosenauer); his stepgrandchildren, Austin, Reed, Emily Purdy, Jaxson and Colby Barlow; his great grandchildren, Audrey Rosenauer, Cade Rosenauer and Braxton Hendrix; his brother C. W. (Ellen Helmcamp); his siblings-in-law, Daria Emmel, Emil "Buddy" (Kathy Hudec) and Franklin (Therese Hudec); and his cousin Leonard Helmcamp (Susie Kalson). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
