He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Donato and Sarah Donato; his brother Daniel Donato; and his wife Nancy Jean Donato. He is survived by: his sister Rosemary Remz of Apple Valley, CA; his children, Dean A. Donato of Marana, AZ and Cheryl Donato Niesz (Anthony) of Canton, OH; and his stepchildren, Julie Newcomb (Richard) of Rosharon, TX, George C. Rager of Tomball, TX and David Rager of Blanco, TX. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
