He was predeceased by: his parents, Daisy Lee Bares and John Erasmus Laird; and his sister-in-law Doris Laird. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Laird; his children, Jamie Steinhauser (Willie) of Flatonia and Shelly Hoffman (Will) of Franklin, Tennessee; his grandson Ted Steinhauser (René); his children, Alex Steinhauser, Louis Steinhauser, Oli Hoffman and Lincoln Hoffman; his great grandchildren, Ben, Freddie and Elizabeth; and his brother Johnny Laird.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Broussard's Mortuary (1605 N Major Dr, Beaumont, TX 77713). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
