He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hale and Bessie Hale (Day); his children, Jerry Wayne Hale, Margaret Louise Shelton and Martha Jean Miller; and the mother of his children Dorothy Louise Hale (Avrett).
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hale of Gainesville; his daughters, Debra Nybro (Craig) of Gainesville, Vicki Koltz (Jim) of Taylorsville, NC, Nancy Fujikawa (Ted) of Gainesville and Rebecca Rahm of Farmington, NM; and his stepdaughter Cindy Townend of Sherman. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
