She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Frisco and Helen Frisco; her husband John S Slimak; her brothers, Louis and Raymond; and her friend Virginia Gunn.

She is survived by: her children, Verlie, John (Lisa), Shawn (Elizabeth) and Jason (Fallon); her grandchildren, John Drew, Justin, Jayde, Katherine (Ingrid), Shawn Jr., Jermaine, Zachary, Cody, Hunter, Kadence and Karli; and her sisters, Helen and Catherine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
