He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Stoops and Ethel Stoops; his wife Sharren Stoops (Mack) of Hurst, TX; his son Jason Stoops of Georgetown, TX; his daughter-in-law Annie Stoops; his grandsons, Jacob and Jayden Stoops; and his brother Harold Stoops (Mary Stoops).

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
