With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marsha Joe Burns (College Station, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Marshall Vandergriff of Houston; her husband Colonel Ray Burns; her father Albert Foster; her parents-in-law, Raystell and Marie Burns of Ganado; her brother Ron Foster of Houston; her siblings-in-law, Julie Foster of Houston, Henry Burns of Perth and Rich Schoenfeld of New Braunfels; and her niece-in-law Alana Foster of San Antonio.
She is survived by: her son Larry; her daughter-in-law Becke Burns of Houston; her grandchildren, Chase Burns (Emily Burns) and Will Burns (Kennan Burns); her great grandchild Bejamin Burns of San Antonio; her granddaughter Kelsie Burns of College Station; her great grandchild Deiadra Burns; her daughter-in-law Amanda Minkler of Dallas; her brother Al Foster of Houston; her siblings-in-law, Shirley Foster of Houston, Anthony Burns of Inez and Carol Schoenfeld of New Braunfels; her nieces and nephews, Mark Foster of Seabrook, James Foster of New Braunfels, Craig, Wendi Foster of San Marcos, Jennifer, David Hildebrandt of Austin, Kelly Ann Foster of Houston, Leigh Ann and Byron Humes of Sweet Home; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Mason Foster, McKenna Foster, Evan Hildebrandt, Laine Hilderbrandt, Sean Humes and Blaine Humes; and also Ellanor Burns of Austin.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the College Station Memorial Cemetery (3800 Raymond Stotzer Pkwy, College Station, TX 77845).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Honor of Marsha Burns.
