He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tillman Matlock, Jr. and Elizabeth Ruth Jenkins Matlock; his siblings, Madeline Matlock and William T. Matlock, III; and his in-laws, E. W. and Polly Frost.

He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Matlock; his wife Denise V. Matlock; his daughter Stephanie Matlock; his extended family, Thomas Hunt, Robert Hunt, Elizabeth Couvillon, Nickolas Perez and Venesa Heidick; and also Aidan. He is also survived by nieces, and cousins.
