He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Carter and Betty Lou Carter; and his siblings, John Carter and Terrie Carter. He is survived by: his wife Malinda Carter; his daughter Krista Vargas (Anastacio); his brother Richard Carter (Patricia); his aunts, Ramona Zerr and Kay Cunningham; his nephews, Mario Kopecky, Jordan Carter and Kris Kopecky; and his sisters-in-law, Anita Carter and Brenda Smith Simon (Maurice).
