He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wesley Flint James and Ruby McClure James; his wife Aileen Hunter; his children, Carl Randall James (Shari) of Abilene, Suzanne Jones (Charles) of Woodson, Tommy Charles James (Kim) of Grapevine, Monte Lynn James (Rebecca) of Boerne and Deanna Mitchelle Barton (Scott) of Ada, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Stephanie Arredondo (Andy), Wesley James, Mitchell Jones (Robyn), Mitzi Nelson (Keith), Brigette Carruthers (Josh), Diana Kubena (Brian), Clint James (Hunter), Colby James, Jacob James (Bailey), Sarah Carlson, Amanda James, Noah James and Allie Barton; his great grandchildren, Dyllan Jones, Brenden Jones, Colt Nelson, Makenzi Nelson, Zoee Carruthers, Mason Kubena, Aiden Kubena, Kori James, Harrison James Gage Carlson, Grady Carlson, Garner Carlson and Liliana; and his siblings, Weldon James of Oklahoma, Edward James (Betty) of Waco, Tommie Nixon of Abilene, Bobbie Hamm of Cedar Park, Roy James and Eloise Miller.
