He is survived by: his wife Barbara Steele of Coldspring; his children, Bobby Steele (Angelia) of Coldspring, William Steele (Shirley) of Coldspring, Jeff Steele of Point Blank, James Blair (Tracy) of Coldspring, Michelle Blair of Coldspring and Stephanie Gore (Malcolm) of Coldspring; and his sister Dede Thompson (Jack) of Spring. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
