It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mavis C. Currie of Coldspring, Texas, born in Marthaville, Louisiana, who passed away on June 7, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Green and Della Green; her siblings, Verona, Gladys, Clodeal, Peralee, Gwen, E. F. and Gale; her daughters, Rhonda Shamoon and Deanna Kaula; her grandson Jeremy Walters; and her great grandchild Colton Shamoon.

She is survived by: her children, Dawn Walters (Larry), Jene' Newsom (Tony) and Monte Thompson (Shelley); her grandson Shawn Shamoon (Robyn); her great grandchild Justyn Shamoon (Sadie); her great great grandchildren, Brady, Braxdyn and Libby; her great grandchild Shalyn Shamoon; her great great grandchildren, Coltyn, Skylnn and Kaysyn; her granddaughter Miranda (Jason Sanford); her great grandchildren, Brett, Garett, Kaylee Lynn (Ricky) and Morgan; her grandson Jason (Kayla Walters); her great grandchildren, Rebecca, Taylor, Bailey, Brooklyn and Tony; her granddaughter Jennifer Walters; her great grandchildren, Nate and Aedan; her granddaughter Jana Smith; her great grandchild Jace; her grandson Josh Smith (Destiny); her great grandchild Ava; her grandson Ryan Thompson; her great grandchild Julia; her grandson Michael Thompson (Miriah); her great grandchildren, Kaylyn and Kyree; her grandchildren, Jonathon Thompson and Chera Atkinson; her great grandchild Kaitlin; her granddaughter Charli Atkinson; her great grandchildren, Daniell, Sarah and Bria; her grandson Bradley Atkinson (Kendra); and her great grandchildren, Olivia and Madison. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
