Matthew Daryl Blattel Obituary
Matthew Daryl Blattel, 34, of Coldspring Texas, passed away on March 1, 2024, in Huntsville, Texas, as the results of a car accident.
Matthew was born on April 4, 1989, in Houston, Texas, to Lisa Blattel and Jeff Erickson.
The center of Matt's world were his four ladies: his Mama, his Grande, his fiancée Kristina Partain, and his beloved dog Sammy. He was his mother's absolute everything, and he was a confirmed Mama's Boy. Matthew loved to be goofy and loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He had an amazing smile and a contagious laugh that he was always willing to share with those around him.
Matt's ADHD didn't allow him to sit still for too long, so he found or created ways to stay busy. He made a point to always have a project to work on, and was constantly building, repairing, or fixing something. He would fall asleep if he sat still too long, so he made a point to keep busy. He loved listening to music and being surrounded by nature. He spent as much time as he could in the outdoors, and was always covered in leaves and twigs and other bits of nature that hitched a ride on his clothes and his mop of curly brown hair.
Matt was intelligent and loved learning new things. He never liked to reply "I didn't know" to any question more than once. If he didn't know the answer to your question, he made a point to find it out. His mind, like his body, was not good at sitting still.
Matt loved the people in his life unconditionally. He had an enormous heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was loyal and honest through and through. He did everything in his power to make sure the people in his life were taken care of, especially his mother. He made a point to check in from time to time just to make sure you were okay, especially if he didn't get to see you on a daily basis.
Matt struggled at times and worked hard in recent years to overcome his problems. He always tried to make the best out of what life handed him and to learn from his mistakes. He was succeeding at overcoming his obstacles so he could become the person he wanted to be, and build the life he wanted for himself. He was in love with his fiancée and looked forward to settling down and starting a family. He found the kind of love that made him the happiest version of himself he had ever experienced and he was excited at the prospect of building a life together with the love of his life.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather Rudolf "Rudy" Blattel, and his stepdaughter Emmalea Partain.
