He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bailey and Elaine Cockrell Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Bailey; his children, Kevin Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, John Bailey (Bonita), Keith Bailey (Crystal), Rhonda Scogin (Mitchell), Buddy Bailey (Crissy), Samantha Vestal Bryant, Sherry Lacy (Greg), Scott Vestal (Kathrine) and Steven Vestal; and his siblings, Jonathan Wayne Bailey, Teresa Bailey, Regina Carter (Joe) and Patricia Alexander. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
