He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Kyle and Texanna Kyle; his siblings, Murphy Davis, Finley Kyle, Kenneth Kyle, Jeanette Smith, Norma Veazey, Mildred Maxwell and Nelda Stewart; and his son Robert Earl Kyle, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Laura Whitlow of Clute, Texas and Larry Kyle (Martina) of Clute, Texas; and his grandchildren, Clayton Whitlow, Wade Whitlow, Robert Kyle and Ashley van Haaren.
