He was predeceased by: his parents, George Forrest Ray and Mary Josephine Reierson; his son Gordon Lloyd Ray; and his sisters, Isla Ruth Dyer and Olena Herzog.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his daughter Mary Jo Maddux; his son-in-law Bert Maddux; and his grandson Bradley Ray Maddux.
