He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter T. Nelson and Eva Nelson; and his siblings, Eddie Nelson and Mavis Orr. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Nelson; his children, Walter Nelson Jr, Jerri Lynn Forrest (Jerry) and Janice Ann Hosea (James); his brother Howard Nelson; and his grandchildren, Walter Nelson III of Jack Nichols, Charles Hill, Virginia Nelson, Stephanie Bunyard and Casey Chandler.
