She was predeceased by: her children, Bubba Lowery, Pete Lowery and Tracy Lively; her mother Margie Matthews; and her sister Lydia Matthews.

She is survived by: her husband Edward Higgins; and her son Gerald Lowery. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
