He was predeceased by: his parents, Amando Ortega and Inez Ortega; his children, Patricia Ortega, Lisa Ortega, Jennifer Ortega, Sammie Torrez and Richard Devora Jr.; his grandson Ray Hernandez; and his brother Raymond Ortega.
He is survived by: his wife Hilaria Ortega; his daughters, Samantha Ortega, Shirley Devora and Geanine Valdez; and his siblings, Robert Ortega and Virginia Hughes.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Brookside Funeral Home (13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
