He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Smith; his son Dwayne Smith; his parents, Barney Franklin Smith Sr. and Mary Lou Ray; and his siblings, Henry Smith, Basil Smith, Eugene Smith, Barney Smith Jr., Hallie Mae Smith, Mary Elizabeth Carlile, Willie Mae Atkinson and Annie Laura Abel.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Smith (Patricia), Timothy Smith (Rodna) and Jolynn Davis (Craig); and his sisters, Cleora Reeves and Betty Jane Burch. He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Neal Funeral Home (200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, TX 77327). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
