He was predeceased by: his parents, W. E. Smith and Lillie Efner Smith; his wife Billie Crystal Smith; his children, Timmy Joe Smith and Wendy Rene Smith; and his siblings, Eugene Smith, Earl Smith, Ernest Smith, Violet Waltmon, Margaret Hales and Julia Ann Torbert.

He is survived by: his son Billy Smith (Dale); his sisters, Betty Smith, Mary Sue Shelton and Earlene Chandler (Jerry); his grandsons, Justin Allen Smith (Ashley) and Joshua William Smith; and his great grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Avery Smith, Abby Smith and Ava Smith.
