He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Floyd Ayers and Bertha Ayers; his children, Ann Milwee and Joe Ayers; his siblings, Hershel, Dalton Ayers, Opal Carroll and Jane Traylor; his wife Mary Jo Ayers; his daughters, Diedra Kay Ayers (Murphy Higginbotham) and Pamela Ayers-Hainline; his sisters, June Bush and Melba Traylor; his grandchildren, Ashley Phillips (Jason), Rachel Beckett (Justin), Robert Bailey (Jamie), Daniel Bailey (Tiffany), Christina Chapman (Ryan), Ty Higginbotham (Amber Brown), Ava Higginbotham and Zachary Chisum; and his great grandchildren, Clayton, Kaitlyn, Taylor Bailey, Sebastian, Leah Phillips, Dylan Bailey, Hagen, Gavin, Paris and Marissa Chapman. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
