He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Sparks and Katherine Sparks; his daughter Robyn Ann Veal; his grandson Bob; his son-in-law David; his grandchildren, Sumner, Sawyer and Audrey; his wife Janet Kay Sparks; his sister Patty Howarth (John) of Austin; his cousin Marilyn Murphy of Tyler, Texas.; his brothers-in-law, Jim Hart of Perrysburg and Raymond Green (late Phyllis) of Arlington Heights; and his nephew Charles. He was also cherished by extended family including cousins and cousins-in-law.
