He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Santos Rodriguez and Maria Zapata Rodriguez; his former wife Rosa Maria Zapata; and his wife Sandra Rodriguez. He is survived by: his children, Efrain Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez, Maria G. Varela, Cinda Armstrong and Paloma Rodriguez; his stepchildren, Rene Santillano, Justin Barnett, Mayra Arias, Sherri Carroll and Debbie Walker; his girlfriend Maria Barron; and his siblings, Porfirio Rodriguez, Fausto Rodriguez, Benita Gonzales and Piedad Bailon. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
