He is survived by: his children, Deborah Louise Speer Rice, Gary Thomas Speer and John Henry Speer; and his grandchildren, Roy Rice, Robin Rice Hardin, Sarah Speer, Jennifer Speer, Sandra Speer and John Henry Speer III. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and 3 nieces.
