He was predeceased by: his parents, Buster Leon and Robbie Nell Carroll; his wife Helen Murray; his sister Jerry Sanders; his children, Terri and Leon; and his granddaughter Cheyenne Nicole Fisher.

He is survived by: his sons, Clifford Ray Carroll (Sherri) of Joshua and Ricky Joe Carroll (Penny) of Cleburne; his son-in-law Carl Fisher of Carrizo Springs; and his sister Darlos Preston of Grand Prairie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
