He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Derring and Alma Rose Brunson. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Rogers, Tina Stewart and Earl Brunson; and his grandchildren, Lari Harper and Loren Stewart. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation in the family of Eligah Brunson.

“I had the pleasure of working for and with Mr. Brunson at El Paso Electric Co. He was great friend and teacher. He was also deadly afraid of snakes. If he even thought he heard a snake he would not get out of the truck until he got back to the pole yard. We did agrivate and tease him about that but it was all in good fun. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Rest in God's arms till we meet again. Pat Keith”
