It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ed Blakeney Sr. of Cleburne, Texas, born in Camp Wood, Texas, who passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Ollie Feanlee Hamilton Blakeney; his wife Vicky Bien; his son William Thomas Blakeney; his siblings, Alton, James, Jesse, William Blakeney and Jean Goforth; and his grandchildren, Meagan and Joseph Crocker.
He is survived by: his children, Edmon Blakeney, Jr. (Marie), Melissa O'Brien, Serena Posey (Bobby), Robert Blakeney and Joseph Stegner; his grandchildren, Johnny Woods, David Woods, Phillip Axtell, Noah Jones, William Blakeney, Jordan Blakeney, Matthew Patterson, Zachary Crocker, Donavan Wainright, Jeffery Wainright, April Frye, Desiree Fry, Tiffany Wolforth, Brandi Blakeney, Amanda Anwash, Kayla Crocker and Jackie Wainright; his siblings, Jerry Blakeney, Helen Kelley and Myrtle Frank; and his pets, Splinter, Misty and Princess. He is also survived by 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous other relatives.
Ed Blakeney will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him.
