He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Leroy and Iva Clem Shawver; his sons, David Shawver and Dale Shawver; his grandson David Nix; and his brothers, Keith Shawver and Dean Shawver.
He is survived by: his wife Jessie Shawver of Cleburne; his daughter Debra Nix of Cleburne; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Nix of Saginaw, Cheyenne Nix of Cleburne and Kaleb Nix of Stephenville; and his brother Ivan Shawver (Melanie) of St. Paris, Ohio. He is also survived by three nephews.
