She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hartzog and Margaret Hartzog; and her half-brother Jim Hartzog. She is survived by: her husband Ron; her children, Alex and Alicia Nellis (Robert); her brothers, Robert Hartzog and Howard Hartzog (Jeanne); and her half-sister Shirley Gustavson.
Judy was also very active in her community organizing a group of Tiara Walkers for the annual Alzheimer's Walk in which her team always had fun and were easily recognized by the fact that they all wore tiaras, purple, and feather boas.
