He was predeceased by: his parents, Lehmon May and Leola May; and his siblings, Floyd May, Charles May, Calvin May, Tilmon May, Lula Bell Sullivan, Fannie Holland and Sinclair May.

He is survived by: his wife Purita May; his sister Ophelia Milliner; his children, Oneal May Jr. and Charmaine May; and also Tober.
