It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Hammons Mims of Clayton, Texas, born in Carthage, Texas, who passed away on February 11, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Neal and Irene English Hammons; her husband Lavenda Mims; and her brother C. H. Hammons. She is survived by: her children, Steven Lavenda Mims (Carolyn), Wendi Yvette Nations (Steve) and Lori Leann Mims (Hollie); her siblings, JoAnn Nutt and Donnie Hammons; her grandchildren, Doug Mims (Alicia), Chase Mims, Makayla Nations, Slade Nations, Maxtyn Ireland Mims and Kessler Lavenda Mims; and her great grandchild Jonah Thomas Mims.
The family suggests memorials to the Bethel Baptist Church.
