He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe and Billie; his son Cory Hales; his sister Sherry Hales Welch; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Meathenia and Harry Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hales; his sisters, Peggy Meathenia of Claude, TX and Jean Wood of Claude, TX; and his grandchildren, Jayden 'Jaybird Blandford, Lexi 'Red Blandford, Addie Miller and Mason Miller.
